Flame detector to a TPPL?
  • Touch Point Plus
  • TPPL
  • Flame Detector
  • 4-20 mA
Touchpoint Plus is not currently approved as a fire or flame detection system, but any information will be updated when its flammables capability is fully tested and certified.
Customer-supplied 3rd Party sensors may be used, but Honeywell is unable to support them or guarantee their performance.
Only Fire Sentry FSxx mA output options are compatible. Relay contact and UV, IR alarms are not compatible.
Nevertheless,  TPPL will read the 4-20mA and will convert the reading depending on the detector range that was previously set.
That is, when a channel is configured, user has the possibility to set the desired range (the recommendation is to use the sensor's range). TTPL will take 4mA as the minimum value of the range and 20mA as the maximum, any reading between 4mA and 20mA will be mapped into the detector's range.
As TPPL is intended for gas detection, must of the units are gas detection units, but there could be one that might be useful for the application.
